摘要
意象意义是认知语法中的一个重要概念,反映认知主体以不同的选择、视角以及抽象程度产生出的不同意象。国内许多译者纷纷将意象意义理论用于指导翻译实践,然而本文认为认知语法研究的意象意义的实际意义在于语义研究,而并不在翻译。在翻译中,意象意义关注的内涵和理据性都会被缺省,符号的功能转换才是最重要的。此外,意象意义本身界定含混,以其为理论指导是翻译的一个误区。
Imagery meaning is an important concept in cognitive grammar, which is a reflection of different images the conceptualizers construe by means of selection, perspective and abstraction. Many translators apply this theory into the practical translation. However, this paper poses a challenge ainst this. The significance of meaning of image lies in semantics, not in translation in that the connotation and motivation of signs tend to be defaulted in translating, and the meaning of image is defined vaguely and over-generalized in itself.
