摘要
在考察辜氏儒经翻译的深层次动机与其翻译时代背景的基础上,本文从西方修辞学的劝服理论视角对辜氏儒经翻译进行修辞解读,认为辜氏翻译儒经深受当时的文化及政治使命的驱使,其儒经翻译实际上是借翻译发声的劝服行为,以成功说服为翻译的终极目的,这在很大程度上决定了其翻译策略的选择。
After a brief review on Gu＇ s translating purposes and the historical context, this paper probes into Gu＇ s translation of Confucius＇ classics under the framework of western rhetorical persuasive theories. The author points out that Gu＇ s translating, with strong cultural and political intentions, is a kind of persuasive behavior by means of translation with its ultimate goal of successfully persuasion, which greatly influences his employment of translation strategies.
