摘要
在翻译研究界,斯皮瓦克提出了其创新翻译主张:翻译就是阅读,阅读就是翻译。译者的任务就是要促成原文与其痕迹之间的爱。作为印美两种不同文化之间的掮客,斯皮瓦克在具体的翻译实践中实现了自己的翻译主张,成功地向西方译介非西方作品,让西方读者认识到不同民族间事实上存在着许多的距离和差异。斯皮瓦克的翻译研究对中国文化对外传播有着重要的现实指导意义。
Spivak has advanced the innovative notion of ＂translation as reading and reading as translation＂ and argues that the task of the translator is to facilitate love between the original and its shadow. As a broker between Indian and American cultures, Spivak set out to pursue her notion in her translating practice and succeeded introducing non-West works into the Western academy. Her translation has enabled Western readers to realize the great distances and differences among different nations. Spivak＇s idea of translation is of practical significance for the dissemination of Chinese culture to the West.
