摘要
文献法律术语是法律概念或法律现象的浓缩和提炼,是法律文本中的核心词语。法律术语的准确翻译是法律英语文献翻译的关键所在,首先要求译者具有广博深厚的法学专业知识。其次要联系上下文,在具体文本和语境中确定法律术语的词义。最后,法律术语的翻译应尽量采用直译,只有直译无法达到准确的翻译目标时,才选择意译。
Legal terminology,key words in legal texts,is the enrichment and refinement of legal concepts or legal phenomena,and accurate translation of legal terms is the key to the translation of legal English. For that,translators are first of all required to have extensive and profound legal knowledge. Secondly,translators should keep in mind the context and then determine the meaning of legal terms in specific texts and contexts. Finally,legal terms should be translated literally as much as possible. Only when the literal method fails to achieve accurate and fluent translation can free translation method be used.
