摘要
一个民族的文化独特性在其他民族文化中经常体现为空白。词汇空缺是这种空白的表现之一,可分为物质生活、精神生活以及社会体制方面的词汇空缺,亦可分为词汇指称意义空缺和词汇语用意义空缺。词汇空缺产生的主要原因有语言文字系统差异、地域环境差异、生产生活方式差异、宗教信仰差异、风俗习惯差异、价值观念差异以及对客观世界认识差异等。
The peculiarities of the culture of one nation usually manifest themselves as gaps in the culture of another nation, which include lexical gaps that can be categorized of material life, social life and social institution or on the basis of referential meaning and pragmatic meaning. They result mainly from differences in language systems, environment, ways of life and production, religious beliefs, customs, tradition, values, world views, etc.
