摘要
意识形态对翻译活动的制约在翻译界已达成共识,操纵翻译实践、进而影响跨文化交流的意识形态包括译者个人意识形态、译入语社会主流意识形态和表现为读者期待视野的目标读者意识形态,这三者共同构成翻译意识形态。闽派翻译家林纾、林语堂分别从文化输入与输出两个相对的角度进行跨文化翻译,促进跨文化交流。林纾翻译救国的意识形态促使他大量输入西方文明和先进文化,而林语堂跨文化融合的翻译意识形态激发他输出中国优秀传统文化。林纾、林语堂的翻译意识形态迥异,但工作机制基本相同,即翻译意识形态影响文化传输方向、文化题材择取、翻译方法应用、翻译作品传播,对中外文化交流和文明互鉴产生重要影响。
There has reached a consensus in the translation field that ideology has a restrictive effect on translation activities.The ideology that manipulates translation practice and affects cross-cultural communication includes the translator’s individual ideology,the mainstream ideology of the target society and the target readers’ideology that embodies their expectations.Different as translation ideologies of Shu Lin and Yutang Lin were,the working mechanism of their translation ideologies was basically the same,that is,their translation ideologies exerted influences on culture import and export,the selection of subject matters,the application of translation strategies in the process of translation and the popularity of translated works.And they also had an important impact on the intercultural communication and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations.
