摘要
研究表明,输入频率和语义特征是儿童克服泛化错误准确习得语言的根本机制。然而,对于输入频率和语义特征如何影响语言习得,现有研究还未做出针对性回答。本研究以中国英语学习者与格习得为例,使用混合效应模型分析方法,从使用的语言习得视角深入探讨输入频率和语义特征在第二语言习得中的作用。研究发现:(1)输入频率和语义特征对中国英语学习者与格习得均有影响,前摄频率最能预测与格习得,其次是动词总频率和语义;(2)对不同语言水平组的分析表明,前摄频率和语义特征可显著预测不同水平学习者对与格语法可接受性判断,动词总频率对不同水平受试与格语法可接受度呈非线性变化,学习者对介宾与格的偏好随着语言水平的提高而递减。
Studies have shown that input frequency and semantic feature are fundamental mechanism for children to overcome the overgeneralization errors and acquire language accurately. However,there is no specific answer to the current research on how input frequency and semantic feature affect language acquisition device. This study takes Chinese English learners’ acquisition of dative structure as an example,and uses the mixed effect model to explore the role of input frequency and semantic features in second language acquisition from the viewpoint of a usage-based approach. The findings of the study are as follows:(1) Input frequency and semantic feature both affect Chinese English learners’ acquisition of dative structure. Pre-emption frequency is the best predictor,followed by verb frequency and semantics of verbs;(2) The analysis of different language level groups show that pre-emption frequency and semantic features can significantly predict the acceptability judgment of learners who are from different levels of learning,and the verb frequency has a non-linear change in the acceptability of dative grammars at different levels. Learners’ preference for prepositional dative decreases with the improvement of language proficiency.
