摘要
本文根据Chomsky(2005a,2005b,2006)提出的假说,从生物语言学的角度出发,提出了合并操作所遵循的"复杂成分合并优先原则",讨论了英汉双及物结构中VP补语的合并顺序及句法推导。本研究发现,除语义信息外,语类信息在决定VP内各成分合并顺序方面发挥关键作用。成分结构的复杂程度对合并顺序的影响说明,生物学因素,如人类语言机能的处理能力、活动记忆的容量等对语言生成发挥重要影响,是语言研究不可忽视的因素。在此基础上,本文对英汉双及物结构及其相关句式以及英汉双及物结构的差异进行了统一分析。
This paper studies the merge order of complements of VP in the ditransitive construction within the latest minimalist framework proposed by Chomsky (2005a, 2005b, 2006 ). From biolinguistic perspectives, the author proposes that besides thematic information, categorial information plays a key role in determining the order of merge within VP and that structurally complex complements should be merged before simple ones. This paper shows that the processing ability of the language faculty and the limitation of active memory have great influence on language production and that biological factors should be taken into account in language study. Based on the latest minimalist assumptions, this paper provides a unified account for the derivation of English and Chinese ditransitive constructions and related constructions.
