摘要
间接词汇学习强调通过泛读习得大量词汇,直接词汇学习主张语言形式的直接学习。前者难以解决低水平学习者的阅读和词汇学习之间的矛盾,后者要面对去语境化的词汇知识如何自动化为语言能力的问题。本研究通过高职非英语专业新生三个自然班为期4周的教学实验发现,查词典和生词表对间接词汇学习的作用不明显,低水平学习者的词汇量水平对词汇学习产生了负面影响,直接词汇学习有助于低水平学习者认知和产出词汇知识。
Indirect vocabulary learning places emphasis on vocabulary acquisition through extensive reading, while direct vocabulary learning stresses direct learning of forms and meanings of words through vocabulary - oriented tasks. The former fails to eliminate the contradiction between reading and poor vocabulary knowledge, and the latter faces the problem of how to automate the newly - learned de - contextualized vocabulary knowledge into linguistic competence, The four - week experiment on three parallel groups in Shenzhen Polytechnic indicates that glosses or dictionaries are less helpful to indirect vocabulary learning, weak L2 learners' poor vocabulary knowledge greatly retards their vocabulary growth, and direct vocabulary learning helps enrich the weak L2 learners' vocabulary knowledge,
