摘要
国际高等教育界流行三种讲述20世纪美国高等教育崛起的经典叙事,分别是宣扬分权和市场优势的美国例外论叙事,描述美国大学体制契合科学气质的科学社会学叙事,以及强调美国作为中心国家之地位贡献的中心-边缘叙事。文化帝国主义叙事作为反叙事,批判反思了美国知识霸权制造的经典叙事。以上叙事建构主体不同,理论渊源有别,情节模式多样,意识形态蕴涵各异。解剖60年间国际高教界关于美国高等教育崛起的经典叙事及其批判反思,可为讲好高等教育强国建设的中国叙事提供启示。
There’re three classical narratives on the rise of American higher education in the 20th century in the international higher education academia,including the narrative of American exceptionalism which promotes decentralization and market superiority,the narrative of scientific sociology which describes the suitability of the American university system for a scientific temperament,and the central-periphery narrative which emphasizes the contribution of the United States as a central power.As a counter-narrative,the narrative of cultural imperialism criticizes the classical narrative of the rise of American intellectual hegemony.The above have different theoretical origins,various plot modes,and different ideological connotations.Analyzing the narrative on the rise of American higher education in international higher education academia in the past 60years,it could provide inspiration for constructing the higher education power in China.
