Through a comprehensive analysis of foreign documents and reports related to the National College Entrance Examination,it is found that the international academic community’s attention to China’s National College Entrance Examination system shows an overall upward trend, and three periods of concern have formed during 1999-2000,2006-2011,and 2019-2022.Among them, international academic discussions on the National College Entrance Examination mainly focus on the examination system itself, examinees’selfdiscipline and stress,as well as the impact of the National College Entrance Examination on social and class mobility.Behind these focuses, international scholars are concerned about China’s educational and cultural systems, and are deeply linked to the construction of the“China image”.Currently, the National College Entrance Examination is largely in a discourse system of“being molded by others”in international academic communication, which has brought certain negative effects to the image of the National College Entrance Examination. In the future,in order to optimize the international image of China’s National College Entrance Examination system,we should improve the international academic communication ability of Chinese educators at multiple levels, comprehensively optimize the National College Entrance Examination system and gradually form a large-scale test with Chinese characteristics.
