摘要
本文以《边城》金介甫英译本中涉及的湘西民俗为例,以霍恩比“综合法”作为指导,从民俗的精神、社会、语言和物质这四个方面,探讨民俗的翻译,指出金译体现的准确得当的民俗文化理解以及翻译技巧。同时,分析其翻译实践过程中未能充分传递源语信息,造成了文化信息表达缺乏的现象,试图为同类民俗英译提供借鉴,更好地传播中国民俗文化。
Taking the folklore in the English version of Border Town as an example,this paper applies Mary Snell-Hornby’s“an integrated approach”theory to the study of folklore in four aspects:spiritual,social,linguistic and material folklores.This paper points out the advantages of Kinkley’s accurate and proper cultural understanding and the related translation skills while analyzes the phenomena of insufficient information transmission and cultural transmission in the process of translation.At the same time,this paper tries to provide reference for similar folklore’s translation and better spread Chinese folk culture.
