摘要
朱子和象山分别围绕“尊德性”“道问学”问题以及“无极而太极”问题展开了两场辩论。必须凭借知觉以穷理,还是可以体悟本心并进而凭借本心直接做身心修养工夫,是双方在尊德性、道问学之辩中的根本分歧。在主张理与气或说道与事不离之外,究竟是否还要主张它们的区别,则是双方在无极太极之辩中的根本分歧。两场辩论存在内在关联。从体用关系来看,朱子强调体用有别,体难以直接作用于用,不应将两者混同;象山主张体用一致,体可以直接在用中发挥作用,不应将两者割裂。两场辩论不过是分别借助尊德性、道问学和无极太极的话题展现了这一根本分歧而已。
Zhu Xi and Lu Jiuyuan launched two debates around the topic of“Practicing the Moral Discipline”,“Acquiring the Knowledge”and the“Wuji and Taiji”respectively.The ultimate divergence between them in the“Practicing the Moral Discipline”and“Acquiring the Knowledge”debate lies in whether they can only acquire the whole knowledge through perception or they should rely on the entity to do good and prevent the evil.Based on the premise of the law and Qi(or Tao and the thing),whether or not to advocate non-complexity between them is the fundamental difference between the two sides in the debate of“Wuji and Taiji”.The two debates are inherently related.Through the aspect of the relationship between entity and its function,Zhu Xi believes that the entity and its function are different——the entity can hardly affect its function directly and the two should not be combined into one;while Lu Jiuyuan proposes that entity and its function are consistent.The entity can directly be put into use in its function,and they should not be separated.The two debates rather showed the fundamental difference between the thinkers using the topics of“Practicing the Moral Discipline”,“Acquiring the Knowledge”and“Wuji and Taiji”.
