摘要
厄普顿·辛克莱是美国"揭黑幕"小说家,其作品传入中国已有九十余载。文章通过系统梳理辛氏作品在中国的译介历程,发现其作品在中国的译介呈现重译多、题材广、选篇佳的特点,对中国读者有积极影响、对我国小说创作方法与报告文学体裁的形成及翻译文学做出了贡献。辛氏作品不仅为中国的译介后续研究提供更为完整开阔的景象,还为中西文化交流提供经验参考。
Upton Sinclair whose works have been translated in China for about 90 years is a representative writer of muckraking novels in America.Through a systematic review of the translation and introduction of his works in China,this paper finds that the translation and introduction of his works in China are characterized by multiple retranslations,wide range of topics and good selection of articles,which has a positive impact on Chinese readers,and has made contributions to the formation of Chinese novel creation methods and reportage genre and translation literature.Sincla’s works not only provide a more complete and open picture for the follow-up study of Chinese translation,but also provide experience reference for the cultural exchange between China and the West.
