The doctrine of five evolutive phases and six climatic factors in traditional Chinese medicine was first seen in the Tang dynasty and flourished in the Song,Jin and Yuan dynasties, and tended to be stable and mature in the Ming and Qing dynasties. In modern medical education, the doctrine of five evolutive phases and six climatic factors is gradually marginalized, and the relevant research is also convergence.LOU Ying,a medical scientist in the late Yuan dynasty and the early Ming dynasty, interpreted and applied the theory of five evolutive phases and six climatic factors in his book Yixue Gangmu with new ideas, and provided some inspiration for the future study of the doctrine of five evolutive phases and six climatic factors.
