摘要
对704名参加大学英语四、六级考试的考生进行问卷调查,通过统计分析的方法发现造成汉英逐字翻译的主要原因包括母语思维的强势,英语语料库缺失,中英句法差异理解缺乏以及英语文化背景知识不足.基于统计分析得出要让学生摒弃这种错误百出的翻译方法,英语教师应当从培养学生的翻译意识入手,夯实双语基础,重视语用功能,采用回文互译以及引入语篇视角等几方面加以努力.
Based on the questionaire to 704 students attending CET-4 or CET-6,the four leading factors resulting in word-for-word translation from Chinese to English as follows:dominance of mother tongue thinking,lack of English Corpus,lack of understanding in bilingual syntactic differences,lack of knowledge in English cultural background were concluded through statistic analysis.To rid the fallible method of literal translation,it was suggested that due efforts should be made to help students develop translation awareness by reinforcing bilingual foundations,emphasizing pragmatic functions,practising back translation and introducing discourse perspective on the part of any innovative English teacher.
