进入21世纪,随着美国"重返亚太",特别是奥巴马政府提出"亚太再平衡"战略以来,菲律宾在美国亚太战略中的地位迅速上升,美菲同盟关系不断得到加强,两国军事交流与合作范围日益扩大,联合军事演习的频率越来越高。从美菲同盟关系的发展历史来看,美国要"重返亚太",菲律宾是美国首先选择的合作对象之一。无论是为了所谓的南海航行自由,还是为了制衡中国的发展,菲律宾都是美国实施"亚太再平衡"战略的重要地缘支点。所以,菲律宾是一个美国很想"重返"的国家。
Entering the 21 st century,the Philippine position rapidly rise in the United States' Asia-Pacific strategy with the United States returning to the Asia-Pacific. Especially since Obama administration carried out the strategy of rebalancing toward the Asia-Pacific,United States-Philippines relations have been closer. Military exchanges and cooperation between two sides expanded,joint military exercise contantely increase. Based on the history of the alliance between two sides,the Philippines is one of the most suitable partners and important geopolitical fulcrum which the United States implement the strategy of rebalancing toward the Asia-Pacific.
