摘要
隐喻不仅是语言的表征,更是人类认知的重要组成部分。隐喻触及到不同概念域之间有拣选性的映射,对它的行使和理解是无意识的,其主观性不容易被发现。政治语篇通常是使用大批的隐喻,将政治和现实具体化,为拟定战略或实施行动制造舆论。本文搜集美国智库新美国安全中心涉华政治话语语篇,自建434.6389万字的语料库。该研究利用批评性话语分析理论,剖析新美国安全中心涉华话语,重点探讨涉华话语中隐喻使用的类别、说服功效及其有关的话语策略。分析表明:新美国安全中心涉华话语所用的隐喻类型集中在冲突隐喻、建筑隐喻、移动隐喻、情感隐喻、科技隐喻、身体隐喻、教育隐喻、地理环境隐喻、饮食隐喻、生物体隐喻和艺术隐喻等方面。
Metaphor,which is not only a representation of language, but also a crucial component of human cognition, involves the selective mapping between different conceptual domains. Its use and understanding are often unconscious, and its subjectivity is not easy to perceive. Metaphors are widely used in political discourse to conceptualize and convey abstract politics and reality, in order to create public opinion for some strategy, policy or action. To analysis the different metaphors types, this paper collects and constructs a 4,346,389-word corpus of the Center for a New American Security（CNAS）, a US think tank, before the critical discourse analysis theory is employed as a framework to analyze critical metaphors in CNAS, focusing on the categories, persuasive functions and related discourse policies. The analysis shows that the types of conceptual metaphors employed include conflict metaphor, architectural metaphor, mobile metaphor, emotional metaphor, technological metaphor, physical metaphor, educational metaphor, geographical and environmental metaphor, diet metaphor, organism metaphor, artistic metaphor and the like.
