摘要
根据亚里士多德的论述,对形而上学可以有两种理解:其一,其他学科是关于经验认识的研究,形而上学研究则是关于先验认识的研究;其二,其他学科是关于某一种认识的研究,形而上学则是关于认识本身的研究。这样的认识凸显出形而上学的专业性,使它与其他学科明确区别开来。如果认为哲学就是形而上学,则应该依据形而上学的这种性质来看待哲学;即使认为哲学并不仅仅是形而上学,也不应该对形而上学的这种性质没有认识,至少应该思考,为什么它被看作是哲学的核心部分,是哲学史主线上的东西,为什么它是一部好的哲学史著作不可或缺的东西。
There might be two ways,according to Aristotle,in which we understand metaphysics.First,metaphysics is a research of a priori science,while other sciences are those of empirical sciences.And second,metaphysics is a research of knowledge itself,while other sciences those of knowledge of a certain kind.This view shows the specialty of metaphysics and brings out definitely its distinction from other sciences.If one takes philosophy as metaphysics,one should deal with it based on metaphysics.Even if one views philosophy as a science much broader than metaphysics,one should not look at philosophy without keeping metaphysics in mind.A basic fact can never be overlooked,that is,that metaphysics is taken as the core of philosophy,as the part that is the central issue in the history of philosophy,so that a book of history of philosophy would not be taken as good if metaphysics were neglected by it.
