摘要
该研究拟对百余年来英语强化词的变异和变化研究进行梳理,内容既涉及强化词的定义和分类、历时流变、共时变异等理论层面的回顾和述评,又包括从语言对比和中介语对比等应用层面对强化词的共性和个性特征以及强化词习得的特点和规律进行综述和分析,旨在指出强化词在研究内容、研究方法、研究视角等方面需进一步拓展和深化的策略和方法。
This paper presented a systematic scrutiny of variation and change in English intensifiers over the past century. It started with a discussion of definition and classification of intensifiers, upon which synchronic variation and diachronic change of intensifiers were reviewed. In addition, a cross-linguistic study of intensifiers was examined to unveil the universals and particulars. Finally, the CIA-based approach was reviewed regarding the features and rules of EFL intensifiers. It was hoped that this study would shed some light on intensifier research with respect to scope, methodology, and perspective.
