摘要
本文考察了中国英语学习者形容词增强语的语义韵特点。所用数据来自CLEC和BNC。研究结果表明,我国学生使用形容词增强语时,其语义韵倾向与本族语者大体一致;但不同水平学习者使用增强语的类型、频率及其搭配词的范围存在很大差异,语义韵和词语搭配的地道性和准确率随着学习者水平提高而提高;学习者使用totally,very much时存在语义韵的误用,terribly的积极语义韵明显少用。
This paper investigates the semantic prosody of adjective amplifiers used by Chinese learners of English. The analysis is based on CLEC and BNC. The results show that the semantic prosody as revealed in learner corpus is generally in accordance with that of native speakers. However, the type, frequency and the range of the collocates of amplifiers vary with learners' language proficiency. The idiomaticity of amplifier collocation and semantic prosody increases as learners' L2 develops. There are mistakes of semantic prosody in the case of "totally" and "very much" and the positive semantic prosody of "terribly" is underused.
