摘要
近些年来,译本的经验功能分析已经较为广泛地应用于诗歌散文等短篇文本的翻译。为了验证这一分析模式同样适用于长篇小说翻译,选取莫言小说《蛙》及其葛氏译文中具有代表意义的五封信作为研究语料,对比原文和译文中的小句及物性过程分布情况,分析小说英译过程中的经验功能传译。研究结果表明葛氏译文与原文及物性过程分布极其相似,汉英传译过程实现了经验功能对等。同时,葛浩文在处理小句结构时所采用的降级、结构调整以及改变及物性过程的方法可以进一步推广,其译例可以运用于翻译教学实践。
The experiential meta- function analysis of the translation version has been widely used in the translation of poems and essays in recent years. In order to verify the applicability of this analysis model in novel translation,five letters in Frog and its English version translated by Howard Goldblatt were selected as research subject.Through the analysis of distribution of transitivity processes in original text and its translation version,it was found that the English version shared a great similarity with the original one in the distribution of transitivity processes and achieved equal experiential meta- function in transferring. Meanwhile,the skills used by Howard in translation such as descending clauses into phrases,restructuring and changing the type of transitivity processes could be applied in more similar texts. The translation examples could be borrowed in translation teaching practice.
