摘要
专业语境是术语生成并赖以存在的学科背景。本文依据术语语义学的有关理论并结合术语翻译的特点,详细论述了术语翻译专业语境的内涵及作用机制规律。本文认为,专业语境是对术语翻译过程产生影响的复杂运行系统,而作用机制是其对术语翻译理解、转化及表达过程的作用规律,具体包括学科领域的定性与引导机制、术语体系的定位与调控机制以及概念系统的定意与释说机制。三种专业语境从宏观到微观或从微观到宏观作用于术语翻译过程。
Professional context plays a very important role in the generation and existence of terms. Based on related theories in terminology semantics and features in terminology translation, the paper discusses in detail the meaning and function of professional context in terminology translation. Professional context is a complex system which functions through the whole process of terminology translation, from terminology comprehension to transformation and to expression. To be specific, the function mechanism includes three aspects： the determination and guidance mechanism of subject area, the localization and control mechanism of terminology, the definition and explanation mechanism of conceptual system. The three mechanisms act on the terminology translation process from macro level to micro level or the other way round.
