摘要
探讨了李约瑟(Joseph Needham,1900～1995)《中国科学技术史.天文卷》(1959)涉及的天文学文献以及李约瑟对于这些天文学文献的翻译介绍等工作.李约瑟的《中国科学技术史.天文卷》反映了他对中国天文学史的研究态度和方法.李约瑟对于历史资料和文献的处理,在文献学上具有意义;他对于许多技术名词和专有名词的处理成为西方学者的范例,这既是一种科学态度,又是一种在研究形式和内容上对于中国历史的尊重和重视.由于李约瑟把中国古代天文学系统地介绍给西方,而改变了一些西方学者对中国古代天文学的基本看法.
Joseph Needham published his Astronomy Volume of Science and Civilization 1959. The paper studies the main contents and the astronomical document in this book and in China in his relation works. It analyses the complicated historical backgrand that Needham began to major in it. It is shows Need- ham＇s researching attitude and methods in his book. His treatment to the historical material and document played an important role in the philology. His treatment to the technical terms was not only an exemplar to the western scholars, but also an respect to the chinese history in the researching form and content. Need- ham introduced the astronomical system in the ancient China to the western and changed some viewpoints of the western scholars to it and exert a great influence in the world. Needham made an important achievement in researching of the history of astronomy in China.
