影响中学英语教师信念的多因素分析 被引量:55

A systematic investigation of factors affecting the beliefs of middle school English teachers

摘要 本研究通过对700多名英语教师进行问卷调查并辅以个别访谈,考察了影响外语教师信念的各种内外因素。所得定量数据用相关分析和多元回归技术进行分析,定性数据采用内容分析法进行处理。结果显示,外语教师信念受到外部环境因素和教师个人因素的共同影响,外部环境因素包括考试和学校文化等,教师个人因素包括教师专业发展观和学历等,其中对教师信念影响最大的因素是教师专业发展观。 This study investigates the various internal and external factors affecting the beliefs of foreign language teachers.The data were collected by administering questionnaires to over 700 English language teachers and by conducting interviews with some of the participants.The quantitative data were analyzed by correlation and multiple regression,and the qualitative data were processed with content analysis.It is found that the beliefs of foreign language teachers are affected by both external,environmental factors and internal,teacher-related factors.The external factors include high-stakes testing,school culture,etc.,and the internal factors include teachers' view of professional development,teachers' educational background,etc.Among all these factors,teachers' view of professional development has the biggest impact on teacher beliefs.This study calls for a systematic and ecological approach to foreign language education as well as due attention to the professional development of foreign language teachers.
