摘要
忠实标准在大多数翻译活动中都是一个重要前提,并发挥重要作用。本文论述了忠实标准在文本层面难以全面实现的原因,并为如何实现"忠实"提出了解决方法即传译本质信息。在此基础上,作者对忠实标准进行了扩展,指出忠实是"忠实于读者,忠实于原文,忠实于译语"的统一。
Faithfulness principle proves to be an essential prerequisite that plays an important role in most translation activities, translation theorists make continuous supplements and aim at perfection in what faithfulness should cover, yet being confined to the mere respect of text is far from enough. The paper discusses why it is hardly possible to reach all-round faithfulness within the text, and then suggests a solution for attaining faithfulness, namely rendering the essential information. Based on that, the author expands the principle of faithfulness, pointing that faithfulness should be a combination of ＂being faithful to the readers, being faithful to the original and being faithful to target language＂.
