摘要
介绍Swain提出的输出假设,着重讨论输出假设的四大功能:引起注意、假设检验、元语言功能和促成自动化,指出输出假设对二语习得的认知解释,从而提出输出假设对二语习得及中国英语教学的几点启示。
This paper introduces Swain's output hypothesis, mainly focusing on the discussions of the functions of output: noticing, hypothesis - testing, metalinguistic function and developing automativity. This paper also points out cognitive explanation of output hypothesis for second language acquisition. The paper then puts forward implications of output hypothesis for second language acquisition and English teaching in China.
