摘要
幽默是诙谐与机智的结合体。幽默不仅为人们的生活增添乐趣,也成为了人际关系的"润滑剂"。幽默是国际性艺术,然而不同国家、不同文化背景的人对幽默的理解不尽相同。因此,在幽默翻译的过程中,幽默效果产生不同程度的丢失是不可避免的。文章从语言和文化的角度探讨了幽默不可译性产生的原因,以及如何避免在实践中出现牵强附会、生搬硬套的译文。
As a combination of jocularity and wittiness humor adds pleasure to life and acts as sort of lubricant in interpersonal relationships as well. It is an international art with different people from different countries who have different cultural backgrounds and hold different understandings of humor. In translating humor therefore it is inevitable to lose some humorous effect to certain degrees. This paper offers a linguistic and cultural analysis of how untranslatability of humor translating results and suggestions for avoiding awkward translations.
