摘要
“词类对译”是双语词典编纂中的一条重要原则,但是这条原则目前受到一定的质疑。“词类对译”不失为双语词典词目翻译的重要原则,但双语词典编译者和用户都要注意区分“语言对应词”和“言语等值词”;“词类对译”与“词类转换”是双语词典编纂过程中并行不悖的两个方面。双语词典用户只有正确理解双语词典的“词类对译”原则才能更好地使用双语词典。
Translating by POS is an important principle in bilingual lexicography, which, however, has been challenged recently by some scholars. The article points out that it is truly an important principle to be followed by bilingual lexicographers, that bilingual lexicographers and bilingual dictionary users should pay attention to the differences between contextfree equivalents and context-sensitive equivalents, and that translating by POS and translating by conversion are actually two inseparable aspects in bilingual lexicography. Users can make best use of bilingual dictionaries only if they have a good knowledge of the principle of translating by POS.
