摘要
对外宣传和交往注意译文词语更新,是从语用角度考虑,实现译文预期功能的必要手段。翻译使用过时语言,对沟通形成阻碍,不利交往顺利进行。因此,汉译英要注意更新译语表达,使之具有时代气息,更易为译语读者接受。更新表现在紧跟时代发展,使用地道英语,翻译新事物、新词汇、新说法。更新还表现在关注国外语言使用动态,顺应语言使用潮流,用高频英语词汇替代旧译。
In translating Chinese writings into English, it is pragmatically necessary to update language expressions used in the translation ,so as to make the version read naturally and appropriately for better achievement of the intended function of the translation. This may involve the use of new words and phrases from English that reflect the current development of the language as well as the spirit of the times, and the use of terms with high use frequency in place of out-of-date versions.
