摘要
我们时代既是加速的时代也是测量的时代。加速与测量相互驱动使大学的发展不断加速。当下盛行的量化评估和“加速大学”不利于高等教育的高质量发展。大学的理想是追求真理和实现人的卓越,“以排名论一流”会误导关于“什么是好大学”的讨论,并会将高等教育改革与发展引入歧途。在高质量发展阶段,世界一流可以成为极少数高水平大学追逐的目标,但不能异化成为一类组织的大学的根本使命或最高宗旨。加速时代我们需要的是能够保持“镇静”的“好”大学,而非排名意义上的“世界一流”大学。
Our era is not only an era of acceleration,but also an era of measurement.Acceleration and measurement are mutually driven to accelerate the development of universities.The prevailing quantitative evaluation and“accelerating University”are not conducive to the high-quality development of higher education.The ideal of universities is to pursue truth and achieve human excellence.“Ranking for the first-class”will mislead the discussion of“what is a good university”and lead the reform and development of higher education astray.In the stage of high-quality development,becoming a world-class university can be the goal pursued by a few high-level universities,but it can not be alienated into the fundamental mission or highest purpose of universities as a kind of organization.In the era of acceleration,what we need are“good”universities that can maintain“calmness”,not“world-class”universities in the sense of ranking.
