摘要
英语中的双关语,具有多功能的修辞效果,可以增强语言生动性,使文字富有幽默、含蓄的情趣。双关语的主要表现形式有谐音双关和语义双关,双关语广泛运用于文学作品、广告、谜语等之中。双关语在口语和书面语中有不同的理解,对双关语的翻译要力争做到内容与形式兼顾。
English puns bears multi-functional rhetoric effects, which makes the language more vivid, humorous and implicit. The puns in English mainly are homophonic puns and homographic puns. Puns are widely used in literary works, advertisements, riddles and the like. To some extend people will get different understanding and reaction to puns in spoken language and written language. When translating, we should give attention to both content and form.
