摘要
龙和龙文化在源远流长的中华文化中占有重要地位,在中华民族的精神和文化生活中发散着不可替代的影响。然而,当前汉英翻译中龙的通行译法并不能起到传播中华民族特色文化的作用。通过对中西龙文化的差异进行对比,指出“龙”与“dragon”尽管中英文字面概念相同,内涵联想意义却相反。基于翻译的本质,龙的英译应以音译为上,以达到准确进行文化交流与传播的目的。
龙 and culture of 龙 hold an important position in the long standing and well-established Chinese culture; and disperse irreplaceable influence on spiritual and cultural life of Chinese people. However, the current method of translation of 龙 in Chinese-English translation at present have not the effect of disseminationg culture with distinguishing feature of Chinese people. By comparing the discrepancy between 龙 in Chinese culture and dragon in Western culture, the author points out that they are opposite in the sense of connotative association while they are alike in concept literally. Based on the nature of translation, the author believes that the English translation should give first place to transliteration. By which the goal of accurately carrying out cultural exchange and dissemination can be attained.
