社会表征理论视角下中国大学生汉英词汇语义网络对比研究

A comparative study on the Chinese and English lexical-semantic networks of Chinese university students from the perspective of the social representation theory

摘要 本研究基于社会表征理论,采用语义流利度测试和社会网络分析工具Ucinet分析中国英语学习者汉语(一语)和英语(二语)词汇语义网络的结构特征,并比较两个词汇语义网络中心核系统和外围系统的构成及影响力模式。研究结果发现,一语和二语词汇语义网络的中心核系统存在大量共享词汇,而外围系统差异性较大;一语词汇语义网络的词汇影响力分布相对均匀,而二语词汇语义网络的词汇影响力更趋于向中心核系统聚集。由此可见,二语词汇语义网络外围系统发展不足,词汇提取过于依赖中心核系统,二语词汇教学应通过加强外围系统的语义连接有效提升词汇语义网络的整体功能。 Based on the social representation theory,this study analyzes the structural characteristics of Chinese EFL learners'Chinese(L1)and English(L2)lexical-semantic networks established on the data of semantic fluency tests,and compares the compositions and influence distribution patterns of the central and peripheral systems of the two networks using the social network analysis tool Ucinet.The results reveal that the central systems of the two networks share a large number of words while their peripheral systems differ greatly;word influence of the L1 lexical-semantic network is more evenly distributed while that of the L2 network is more centralized.The study suggests that the L2 lexical-semantic network is underdeveloped in its peripheral system and lexical retrieval mainly depends on its central system,which points to the necessity of strengthening semantic connections among words in the peripheral system in vocabulary instruction so as to improve the overall function of the L2 lexical-semantic network.
