Empirical Research on the Impact of Expanding Domestic Demand on Enterprise Exports

摘要坚定实施扩大内需战略,是加快构建以国内大循环为主体、国内国际双循环相互促进的新发展格局的必然选择。在新发展格局背景下,本文将国家信息消费试点城市建设作为扩大内需的外生政策冲击,兼顾扩展边际和集约边际视角,较为全面细致地考察了扩大内需引致的内循环能否有效驱动外循环的问题。研究结果表明:国家信息消费试点政策带来的内需冲击,不但显著提高了试点城市的企业出口概率,还促进了企业出口规模的显著扩张;信息消费试点政策通过生产率效应、外资进入效应和信息化效应促进了企业出口;信息消费试点政策的企业出口效应存在企业规模、城市级别和行业异质性;良好的制度环境有利于信息消费试点政策驱动企业出口。本文的研究结论为国内国际双循环相互促进提供了经验证据,对加快构建新发展格局具有重要的政策启示。 Firmly implementing the strategy of expanding domestic demand stands as an inevitable choice to accelerate the establishment of a novel developmental pattern emphasizing the domestic circulation as its core,and the domestic and international dual circulations propelling each other mutually.Under the background of this novel pattern,this paper takes the construction of national information consumption pilot cities as the exogenous policy impact of expanding domestic demand,and considers the perspective of extensive and intensive margins,and comprehensively examines whether the internal circulation caused by expanding domestic demand effectively drives the external circulation.The results reveal that the domestic demand shock,triggered by the national information consumption pilot policy,significantly enhances both the export probability of enterprises in pilot cities and their export volumes.The information consumption pilot policy promotes enterprise exports through productivity effect,foreign capital entry effect,and informatization effect.Moreover,the enterprise export impact of the information consumption pilot policy manifests diversely across enterprise scale,city levels,and industries.A conducive institutional environment augments the capacity of information consumption pilot policy to propel enterprise exports.Our conclusions provide empirical evidence for the mutual promotion of domestic and international dual circulations,bearing crucial policy implications for accelerating the establishment of the novel developmental pattern.
