摘要
教材是文化的重要载体。英语视听说教材中文化内容的呈现为学生“讲好中国故事、传播好中国声音”奠定基础。该文依据《英语教材文化呈现分析框架》,对一套英语视听说教材的文化地域及文化类型的呈现进行统计分析,发现该套教材侧重共有文化及目标语国家文化的呈现,存在一定程度的母语文化的呈现缺失。呈现的文化类型以文化观念和文化实践为主,对文化社群的呈现不足。建议教师能动地使用教材,通过对现有教材进行重构,同时甄选优质网络资源(如共享慕课资源)及自制微课等,形成课程独有的教学材料包,以弥补教材的不足,更有效地达成教学目标,提升教学质量,从而提高人才培养质量。
Textbooks are an important carrier of culture,and the representation of cultural content in English audiovisual and oral textbooks lays the foundation for students to develop their ability of"telling Chinese stories well and spreading the Chinese voice well".Based on The Framework for Analyzing the Representation of Cultures in English Textbooks,this article conducts a statistical analysis of the representation of cultural regions and cultural types in a set of English audiovisual and oral textbooks.It is found that this set of textbooks focuses on the presentation of shared culture and the culture of target language countries,and there is a certain degree of lack of representation of mother tongue culture.The cultural types presented are mainly cultural concepts and cultural practices,and the presentation of cultural communities is insufficient.This article suggests that teachers should actively use textbooks,restructure the already chosen textbooks,and select high-quality online resources(such as shared MOOC resources)and self-make micro courses to form a unique course-oriented teaching material package,in order to make up for the shortcomings of the textbooks,achieve teaching objectives more effectively,improve teaching quality,and enhance the quality of talent cultivation.
