摘要
近年来女性劳动参与率逐年下降,就业市场性别歧视现象有待解决。本文使用2014-2018年中国家庭追踪调查数据,实证检验了数字经济对女性整体就业以及不同就业类型的影响。研究发现,数字经济的发展显著促进了女性整体就业,对女性从事非农业工作、第二职业或副业均有提升作用;相比男性,数字经济对女性就业的促进作用更明显,有效缓解了性别就业差异和收入差距;影响机制分析发现,数字经济在个人层面能提升女性的人力资本和社会资本,在地区层面能提高地方公共财政支出、推动产业结构优化,进而促进女性就业。基于以上结论,本文提出应大力推动数字经济发展,以解决女性就业难题并缩小性别就业差距。
The rate of female labor participation in China has been decreasing in recent years,and gender discrimination in the labor market is still non-negligible.Based on CFPS data from 2014 to 2018,this paper examines the association between the development of digital economy and women's overall employment and in different sectors.Results show that,digital economy in China has significantly promoted women's employment,particularly in non-agricultural work,second,and side jobs.In addition,digital economy facilitates employment of women more significantly than men,which can effectively alleviate gender employment gap in China.Through the influence mechanism analysis,we find that,at the individual-level,digital economy affects women employment by promoting women's human capital and social capital.At the city-level,digital economy affects employment by enhancing local public financial expenditure and upgrading city industrial structures.Based on these findings,this paper suggests that the development of digital economy should be accelerated in order to encourage women employment and narrow the gender employment gap.
