In recent years, with the improvement of the level of market economy, the increase of merchants in all walks of life has stimulated the consumption of the people. Especially among the consumer groups of college students, the “food commercial street” beside the campus and the “food street” in the form of stalls at night have become a way of entertainment in college students’ leisure life. However, these foods also often involve food safety issues. As a unique group of colleges and universities, in order to more effectively protect the physical safety of sports students and play a better level in training and competition, it is necessary to strengthen the popularization of food safety knowledge for them, strictly control the food safety, but also to increase the intake of nutrients to ensure a balanced diet. By using the methods of literature and logical analysis, this paper analyzes the eating habits of college physical education majors, summarizes the problems and puts forward relevant suggestions. It is concluded that food safety and reasonable diet have positive effects on physical quality, training level and mental health of college physical education students. Therefore, colleges and universities should pay attention to the popularization of food safety of students majoring in physical education and strengthen the publicity of reasonable diet in order to improve the physical quality of students majoring in physical education and maintain a good state of competition.
