摘要
《香魂女》是红杏文学丛书中的精品,小说突出刻画了“二嫂”这一人物形象,生动展示了20世纪80年代我国农村生活中存在的问题,表现了作者对人性觉醒的呼唤。“二嫂”的形象经保罗·怀特(Paul White)英译后发生了一系列的识解“偏离”:一是她强烈的母爱有所减弱;二是她对私密爱情的极度渴望有所降低,和情人的隐匿关系呈外显化;三是她的勤劳能干被淡化,她威严的老板形象变得温和。通过识解理论分析发现,导致“二嫂”形象产生上述“偏离”的原因主要在于:(1)辖域的偏离,主要表现为在小说直接辖域和最大辖域上的偏离;(2)视角的偏离,主要表现为随意改变句子主语、使用体现不同扫描方向的词语,以及省略不当而导致的视角缺损;(3)突显的偏离,主要表现为“射体与界标”颠倒、“首要焦点与次要焦点”换位、句子内部原有逻辑关系的改变而导致突显焦点偏离、译文用词的语义强度改变以及因特殊句式的拆解而导致的焦点偏离或消散。
Woman Sesame Oil Maker is an excellent story in the Apricot Short Story International Series.It highlights the figure of"Ersao",vividly showing the problems in Chinese rural life in the end of 20th century and the author′s call and praise for humanity′s awakening.The figure of"Ersao"has undergone a series of changes in Paul White′s translation:First,her strong maternal love has weakened;Second,her extreme desire for intimate love has decreased,and her hidden relationship with her lover has emerged;Third,her diligence and ability have been diluted,and her majestic boss image has become gentle.Through the construal theory,it is found that the translation has deviated from the original work in terms of scope,perspective and salience,resulting in some"deviations"in the figure of"Ersao":(1)Specifically,the deviation in the scope mainly manifests itself in the deviation from the direct scope and the deviation from the largest scope;(2)The deviation in the perspective is mainly characterized by the arbitrary change of the subjects of the sentences,the use of words that embody different scanning directions,as well as the perspective defects caused by arbitrary omission in translation;(3)The deviation in the salience is mainly due to the reversed focus between the trajector and the landmark,the primary focus and the secondary focus,the change of focus caused by the change of the original logical relationship within the sentence,and the deviated or dissipated focus caused by the reduction of the words′force and the dismantling of special sentence patterns.
