Study on Flame Retardant Properties of PC/ABS/VMT/Sesquisiloxane

摘要 通过熔融挤出制备聚碳酸酯(PC)/丙烯腈-丁二烯-苯乙烯塑料(ABS)/蛭石(VMT)/倍半硅氧烷复合材料,对复合材料的极限氧指数(LOI)和UL94阻燃等级进行测试,并用TG和锥形量热仪进行分析,结果表明:倍半硅氧烷可以有效阻燃PC/ABS,添加0.6%的倍半硅氧烷阻燃剂,PC/ABS的LOI值为28.7%,阻燃达到UL 94 V-0级(3.2 mm);VMT在分散良好的情况可以有效提高阻燃PC/ABS的阻燃性和热稳定性,添加2%的VMT,复合材料的LOI为31.8%,阻燃达到UL94 V-0级(2.0 mm),起始失重温度,最大失重温度、700℃的残炭量、点燃时间和火灾性能指数相对未添加VMT的分别提高2.9%,3.8%,13.1%,12.7%和28.6%;热释放速率峰值、总热释放量、平均有效燃烧热,总生烟量、平均质量损失速率分别降低16.4%,24.9%,11.9%,20.9%,23.3%。 Polycarbonate(PC)/acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene plastic(ABS)/vermiculite(VMT)/sesquisiloxane composites were prepared by melt extrusion.The ultimate oxygen index(LOI)and flame retardant grade of UL94 of the composite were measured,thermal gravity analysis and cone calorimeter were used to analyze the flame retardant effect.The results show that sesquisiloxane can effectively flame retardant PC/ABS.Adding 0.6%sesquisiloxane flame retardant,the LOI of PC/ABS is 28.7%,and the flame retardant reached UL94 V-0 grade(3.2 mm).VMT can effectively improve the flame retardancy and thermal stability of flame retardant PC/ABS under good dispersion conditions.With the addition of 2%VMT,the LOI of the composite is 31.8%,the flame retardant of the composite reach UL94 V-0 grade(2.0 mm),and the initial weight loss temperature,maximum weight loss temperature,carbon residue at 700℃,time to ignition and fire performance index increased by 2.9%,3.8%,13.1%,12.7%and 28.6%,respectively.Compared with that without the addition of 2%VMT,the peak of heat release rate,total heat rate,average effective heat of combustion,total smoke release and average mass loss rate are reduced by 16.4%,24.9%,11.9%,20.9%,23.3%respectively.
