The American post-9/11 novels have a distinct tendency of post-modern realism, one of those notable features is the critical intervention in the core issue of"national identity"in the public sphere.Writers constructed the poetic space from the perspectives of disaster representation, historical writing and transnational narrative, and conducted in-depth discussions on issues such as the strengthening of national identity, the construction of national memory, and the choice of national identity. It is argued that the multiple interpretations of national identification present significant implications for the construction of personal identity, ethnic group unity, and strengthening of national identity in multi-ethnic countries.
