摘要
译者不得不面对的一个尴尬现实是:翻译以及译者的地位低下,翻译常常被视为次生的、第二性的活动。这源于对不可译性的认知,抑或是将翻译仅仅视作从原文到译文的对等传达。然而事实上翻译是极其复杂的,给翻译以及译者赋权显得尤为必要。翻译空间喻指翻译过程中语言的指称力量,也关涉译者的主体性。翻译空间的产生源于多重因素,包括译者的阐释、语境的差异、对原文的模仿、变形、意义的延异、互文、不可译以及翻译中做出的决定等。对翻译空间的认知可以帮助我们更好地利用语言的指称力量,丰富我们的翻译策略,给翻译赋权。
One of the embarrassing facts confronting translators is the low status of translation and translators as well.Translation is usually deemed as inferior and derivative,which stems from the idea that translation is impossible,or it just involves equivalence between source text and target text.Given the fact that translation is extremely complicated,it is necessary to empower it.Translation spaces metaphorically refer to the referential power of language,which is also closely related to translator's subjectivity.A series of factors give rise to translation space including translator's interpretation,context differences,interlingual imitation,transformation,differance of meaning,intertextuality,untranslatability,undecidability in translation,and so on.The perception of translation spaces helps us make full use of the referential power of language,diversify translation strategies,hence the empowerment of translation.
