费正清是现代美国中国学巨擘,哈佛大学终身教授,著作等身,对美国现代中国学事业的发展作出了巨大的历史贡献。其中,《美国与中国》是他的成名之作,是对其长期以来中国研究的集中总结,是历史研究与现实服务相结合的学术典范,有助于美国中国学研究事业和中美文化交流的新发展。
As atenured professor at Harvard University, John King Fairbank is a giant of modern Chinese studies in the United States. He has made great historical contributions to the development of modern Chinese studies in the United States. He writes a great number of works. The United States and China is his famous work,a concentrated summary of his long-term China studies, and an academic model of combining historical research with practical services, which is helpful to Chinese studies in America and the new development of Sino-US cultural exchanges.
