Diabetic nephropathy(DN) is the kidney damage caused by the persistent hyperglycaemic state, which can affect the whole kidney including the glomerulus, the renal tubular interstitial and the renal vessels. It is clinically characterized by persistent albuminuria and/or a progressive decline in glomerular filtration rate, which may progress to end-stage renal failureHif-1 and VEGF are important members of the cytokine pathways involved in the pathogenesis of diabetic nephropathy, which are of great significance for their further study in the early prevention and diagnosis of diabetic nephropathy.
