Gas generation mechanism of lithium iron phosphate Li-ion battery during formation

摘要 应用气相色谱和傅里叶变换红外光谱仪,分析磷酸铁锂(LiFePO 4)正极锂离子电池化成过程中的产气种类和负极表面的固体电解质相界面(SEI)膜,探讨产气来源和反应机理。气体主要在SEI膜形成阶段产生,成分为H 2、乙烯(C 2H 4)、CO、甲烷(CH 4)和乙烷(C 2H 6);成膜后气体量无明显增加,在后续充放电过程中出现CO 2。通过对称电池的分析,证明H 2和烃类气体主要在负极侧产生,CO 2主要在正极侧产生。 Gas chromatography and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy were used to analyze the generated gas of lithium iron phosphate(LiFePO 4)cathode of Li-ion battery and the solid electrolyte interface(SEI)film on the anode during formation process.The source of gas and reaction mechanism were discussed.Gas was mainly generated during the formation of SEI film,whose main components were H 2,ethylene(C 2H 4),CO,methane(CH 4)and ethane(C 2H 6).Quantity of gas remained stable after SEI film formed,CO 2 appeared in the charge-discharge process.Through the analysis of symmetrical batteries,it was proved that H 2 and other hydrocarbon gases were mostly generated at the anode,CO 2 was mainly generated at the cathode.
