Objective To explore the correlation between serum levels of hypersensitive C-reactive protein(hs-CRP),homocysteine(Hcy),uric acid(UA)and diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN)in patients with typeⅡdiabetes mellitus. Methods 118inpatients with typeⅡdiabetes mellitus were divided into DPN group(56cases)and simple diabetes group(62cases)according to the neurological autonomic symptoms and the results of electromyography(EMG),60healthy individuals were also included as controls.Blood samples were collected and serum levels of hs-CRP,Hcy,UA were measured. The Mintab 17statistical software was used to analyze the correlation. Results The levels of MNTA,MCV,MNFWL,SCV in DPN group were lower than that in SDM group and control group(F=15.252,20.521,17.358,20.479,P=0.013,0.021,0.027,0.032),while the serum levels of hs-CRP,Hcy and UA were significantly higher(F=21.250,14.221,8.352,P=0.013,0.000,0.040).The levels of HS-CRP,Hcy and UA were negatively correlated with those of MNTA,MCV,MNFWL and SCV in patients with typeⅡdiabetics(P<0.05).Conclusions Serum hs-CRP,Hcy and UA can be used as serum markers for diagnosis and intervention of DPN.
