摘要
早在20世纪80-90年代,国内学者就开始进行文化研究,身份和文化身份始终是文化研究的关键词。在国内研究中,许多学者认为身份即是认同,对身份/认同的使用和界定比较模糊和混乱。造成这种现象的部分原因在于与汉语身份对应的英文词汇identity一词多义,这个英文词汇在语义上具有模糊性,在内涵上具有包容性。但究其根源还在于学界对它的认识不够清晰,甚至存在误读,“成问题的”身份直接导致“成问题的”文化身份。霍尔是英国文化研究的领军人物,身份和文化身份问题一直是其理论研究的关切点。深入梳理霍尔的理论文献,探究霍尔文化身份的理论演进,定会为明晰身份和文化身份提供借鉴。
Back to 1980s and 1990s,Chinese scholars began their studies on cultural studies,in which identity and cultural identity remain central.However,the semantic vagueness and connotative extensiveness of identity pose challenges for scholars to give it a clear definition.Even worse,our researchers still have misunderstandings about identity.Thus,a problematic identity leads to a problematic cultural identity.Stuart Hall plays a leading role in cultural studies.Identity and cultural identity issues are always his concern.An in-depth study on his academic works and his theoretical development will be beneficial for the unsettled problems in this field.
