A Study of East Asian Confucianism as Hermeneutical Philosophy

摘要 东亚儒学与经典诠释密切相关且互为因果。经典诠释既是东亚儒学赖以形成的建构方式,也是东亚儒学的存在方式,更是东亚儒者进行哲学创造的思想方式。儒家经典所包含的那些具有自主性与开放性的思想命题,正是在异代异域诠释者的理解活动中得以祛除遮蔽而开启出新的意义。然而,尽管经典诠释在东亚儒学的哲学创造中扮演着如此重要的角色,但我们却不能简单而直接地将东亚儒学称之为"东亚儒家经典诠释学"。由于东亚儒者既不研究理解经典的方法和诠释经典的规则,也不研究经典理解活动本身,他们的经典诠释密切联系着他们对儒家经典意义的新理解,属于一种哲学创造活动。因此,东亚儒学既不是方法论的诠释学,也不是存在论的诠释学,而是一种以经典诠释为思想创造方式的"诠释哲学",在家族相似意义上可将其称之为"应用诠释学"。 East Asian Confucianism and the interpretation of classics are closely related and depend on each other as a relation of cause-effect.Of which the latter not only serves as the construction and existence mode of the former’s formation,but also as the thinking mode of the East Asian Confucian scholars’philosophical creation.The autonomy and openess contained in the propositions of the Confucian classics brought about new meanings in the understanding of East Asian Confucian during different eras.However,although the interpretation of classics is so essential in the philosophical creation of East Asian Confucianism,it cannot simply or directly taken as"Hermeneutics of East Asian Confucianism",since Confucian scholars of East Asia neither study the methods or the rules for understanding or interpreting the classics,nor study the understanding activities themselves.Therefore,East Asian Confucianism is neither the methodological hermeneutics nor the ontological hermeneutics,but rather a kind of"hermeneutical philosophy"that takes the interpretation of classics as the mode of philosophic creation,which can be accpeted as"Applied Hermeneutics"in the sense of family resemblance.
