摘要
在许多国人心目中,著名语言学家、英语教育家许国璋先生不只是一位热爱读书之人,亦是一位善于读书之人。鉴于此,充分探究许国璋先生的读书思想,无疑具有特定的科学价值与现实意义。就读书方法与策略而言,许先生认为:读书要讲气度;读书需要跨界;读书贵在自学;读书重在选择。许先生本人亦身体力行,躬耕实践,最终成就一名真正意义上的成功读书人。
The late famous linguist and educator Prof.Xu Guozhang has been deemed by many people to not merely love reading but also be keen on reading.Yet no much discussion has so far been concerned with Prof.Xu’s conceptions of reading,in view of which,to fully explore Prof.Xu Guozhang’s thoughts of reading has both scientific values and practical significances.It is also found that Prof.Xu Guozhang’s thoughts of reading have their relatively unique characteristics in China’s modern academic history,as shown below in terms of reading methods and strategies:reading and generosity,cross-border reading,reading and self–study,choice of reading.More importantly,Prof.Xu Guozhang practices what he has preached,eventually becoming a truly successful scholar.
