摘要
高等教育学在发展过程中无法回避功用问题。高等教育学的功用一般从对宏观政策的影响、对高校发展政策的影响和对教师发展的影响三个层面进行求问。显然,层级越高,挑战越大。传统高教研究集中于宏观领域,把自身局限于普通学科,对高校发展关注不足,致使高等教育学的功用难以彰显,并使自身发展陷入困境。大学排行榜作为替代品出现,呼唤高等教育学必须重新定位,凸显其功用价值。未来,高等教育学必须把满足大学自身发展需求放在首位,以促进大学整合为使命,把推动大学管理专业化作为基本职责,从根本上解决高等教育学的生存危机。
The discipline of higher education cannot escape from the inquiry of use.Its use can be addressed from three perspectives,including influences on macro policy,on the policy of higher education institution and on faculty development.Obviously,the challenge will be stronger following the tiers' ascending.Traditionally,studies on higher education focus on macro area,and pay little attention to middle and micro levels.As a result,the use of higher education cannot be fully displayed and the discipline is trapped into a dilemma.The emergence of university rankings as a replacement requires the discipline of higher education to reposition itself and show its prominent value.In future,it is imperative for the discipline of higher education to take the demand of higher education institutions for development as priority,pay more attention to university integrity,and enhance the professionalization level of university management,so as to resolve its survival crisis.
